Absolutely. You can use your Health Savings Account for LASIK (and many other elective procedures). HSA's and MSA's are an excellent way to save for an elective surgery like LASIK at Woodhams Eye Clinic. You can set aside money in pre-tax dollars up to $2000 depending on your income level. A few things to consider:
- LASIK is not a "one-size fits all" procedure, and it is not for everyone so first find out if you are a candidate. There are several different eye surgery procedures that may make sense for your situation. Woodhams Eye Clinic uses the most advanced technology available to determine exactly what is right for you.
- Money from your HSA may not rollover to the next year so you must use it before the year expires and appointments fill up fast. Plan for some time between your LASIK evaluation and your procedure day should you be a candidate. Book your evaluation appointment in plenty of time for you to take advantage of your HSA in the current year. You can also find out more about LASIK costs here.
If you're not currently enrolled in an HSA and want to know more, Clark Howard has an excellent article that explains "how health savings accounts work".
